Success Without College and Without Student Loans

September 17, 2018

College - College - College.  That is all you hear sometimes.  Success without college isn't always a possibility. People are needed for jobs that do not require a college degree.  Of course, no college degree means no student loan debt.

There are skilled jobs which require math and intelligence - but no college degree.  You can become a computer programmer without a college degree.  You will still have to know and understand math and practice for many hours to acquire the software development skills needed to get a job, but it happens every day.

That is why Success Without College publications wrote $uccess Without College - Roadmap to Software Developer.  It is just that - a roadmap to getting the skills and getting the job as a software developer without a college degree.

Another such job is elevator installation and repair.  Working with such large equipment safely, and installing and repairing elevators so that others are safe is very important work.  Equally important is that the person doing this work be intelligent a diligent.  If you think that describes you, then perhaps it is a field you can pursue.

Recently, local governments have recognized the value of a highly skilled workforce without a college degree.  The Governor of Alabama announced Alabama Works! Success Plus initiative, which aims to add half a million Alabama residents to the workforce who have high school - plus credentials.

-Upon successful completion of the High School Ready-to-Work program, students receive a National Career Readiness Certificate and an Alabama Certified Worker Certificate.-

Already, this program has a 90 percent success rate for getting young people jobs that can lead to a career.

And Alabama is not the only state who sees college alternatives to success.  Recently, Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R) WA promised  - I’m working hard on workforce development to ensure we are advocating for opportunities like trade schools, vocational schools and community colleges to meet the needs of students who may not be looking for the traditional four-year college experience.-

There are books about Success Without College that are general in nature and written more for anxious parents than young people, like the Linda Lee book Success Without College.  But if you are a young person who wants direct answers, then $uccess Without College - Roadmap to Software Developer is the book for you!
