Get a Job at Google With No College Degree

September 22, 2018

Google just announced that it is no longer requiring a college degree for employees.

“When you look at people who don’t go to school and make their way in the world, those are exceptional human beings. And we should do everything we can to find those people,” said Google’s former SVP of People Operations Laszlo Bock.

In researching $uccess Without College - Roadmap to Software Developer, it became clear that a college degree wasn't needed to become a computer programmer.  While this is not new information, it is significant that Google is recognizing it.

As an industry leader, other software companies will follow the example of Google.  The effect of the Google decision is that the field of software and software-related disciplines will now open up to talented software professionals who did not get a college degree.  No degree needed to apply for a job at Google!

In the past, premiere companies like Google had degree requirements for its software developers.  Since then, studies have shown that having a college degree does not guarantee success - or a hard-working employee.  In fact, having a degree does not mean you are more intelligent, either.  Success without college is increasingly possible for young people today.

Certainly, computer programmer is a job that pays well without a college degree.

You can be one of the success stories without a college degree.  All it takes is hard work and willingness to learn.  Many students cannot afford college, and think higher education is a scam.  There is a decline of college enrollment.  With all this change, is a college degree really necessary?  It is up to you.  Not if you want to be a software developer.  But it is if you want to become a doctor or professor.

There are other books about success without college - like the one by Linda Lee.  But her book focuses on calming anxious parents, and not on solutions.  Buy $uccess Without College Roadmap to Software Developer by Christine Axsmith for solid advice on launching your successful career path.
